Ana Marie Cox, the former Wonkette who made a name for herself by cursing and gossiping and in general being totally girls-gone-wild online, won't appear on Imus any longer. Because some things are beyond the pale.
I'm not sure where he gets the girls-gone-wild comparison from, other than that, since Ana Marie Cox is a girl, it's easy to tarnish her by saying, based on nothing, that what she does is similar to alcohol-induced, opportunistic pornography. But he leaves out the important fact that Ana Marie Cox--say what you will about her, or her skills as a novelist--was actually pretty funny as Wonkette. Read that post. Note the slight degree of subtlety. Note that she, in an Imus like way, could have just written simply "Scooter Libby fucks bears" and it...well I guess that would have been pretty funny too. But you get my point.
Update: Someone tell Wonkette to fix their archives. Actually, tell them to fix the whole damn site. Finding an old post like that is way harder than it needs to be.

I'm pretty sure the point was that Cox is being hypocritical, since she made her name for being NSFW and now that her booster Imus got in hot water for being less crude than she frequently was.
So she was funny and he wasn't. So what?
