Alma Mater

After spending about six or seven hundred words lashing the now notorious Private Beuachamp for his only known--and perhaps not even purposeful--error, Charles Krauthammer does the unpredictable thing and accuses The New Republic of hating America:

[W]hat made the purported story interesting enough to publish? Why did the New Republic run it? Because it fits perfectly into the most virulent narrative of the antiwar left.

The New Republic, you'll remember, is that bimonthly liberal magazine known for adamantly opposing all wars being uniquely hawkish, supporting the war in Iraq, and never disavowing that position.

So left-wing and anti-war is The New Republic that it just so happens they feature on their masthead a one-time staffer--now senior editor--who went on to become one of the most reasonable liberal voices vicious attack dog conservatives in all of journalism. His name is Charles Krauthammer
