I haven't said anything about the FISA debacle that hit Congress when nobody was looking, mainly because it's severely depressing. But here and here are good rundowns of how things got so messed up.
Pelosi and Conyers say they're going re-amend FISA as soon as possible. I hope so. I also think this was dangerous policy making and disastrous politics.
Sure they (Pelosi/Reid) are (going to amend FISA ASAP)...
Except Bush will veto the amendments and call them terrorists again.
I fell off the turnip truck long ago, but still know that Congress can't pass a law Bush doesn't like and vetos.
There is something seriously off track in the Dems legislative bill-passing strategy. From what I've read, the Dems agreed to be screwed again, even though the Constitution bears the pain and scar.
